There's thumb rule for mineral oil use life for 5,000 km and semi-synthetic for 8,000 km
I have been tested caltex mineral oil (15w-40) for my gen2 car, i can feel it totally preserve fuel economy.The more u drive the more u feel better.
U also can feel the smooth-running operation of the engine.
For gen2 owner, i recommend use this mineral engine oil,the best the engine can get--for a good low price.
